Southern Lending Consultants, LLC was founded by Tom Harper and Turner Williams in July of 2008. Most mortgage brokerages and mortgage companies are spawned during times of low rates and therefore are based on opportunistic business models. The summer of 2007 was a dismal time for the mortgage industry as most constituents were severely downsizing or even closing their doors altogether. We aim to differentiate ourselves from the traditional mortgage brokerage firm in many ways, especially our approach to clients.

We have modeled our business around solid ethics and building relationships that aim to educate our clients. We do not have a “sales pitch” and instead prefer to help you discover the benefit of a particular product or program. We want to help you decide the right choice in a rate, the costs you incur and the terms to which you agree. Because you will be active in the process and all aspects will be thoroughly explained, you will feel more comfortable with the transaction and more informed about your property. Home ownership is the largest financial endeavor most people will take in their lifetime. We believe that you need to be intimate with your mortgage to ensure you have the best product and rate for your current financial aspirations.

We do not charge any upfront fees and therefore have every incentive to close your loan quickly and correctly. We strive to be your contact for any mortgage related questions as we constantly monitor the market for changes in policy and rate offerings. By proving to you the quality of service we provide, it is our goal to become a business based solely on referrals from satisfied customers.
